What if...

My love of vintage Pyrex is no secret. The fab colours, retro patterns and shapes are so visually appealing and still functional. So why, oh why, is new pyrex so BORING??? What executive meeting resulted in the decision "Let's just make plain glass". Boring bowls, baking dishes and casseroles, all look the same.

Lots of companies looking for a sales boost have turned to a new generation of designers to give their products a new lease of life, so why can't Pyrex do the same?

Imagine elements from these fab patterns applied to your new bakeware and mixing bowls...

I think if Pyrex commissioned the likes of Cath Kidston, Orla Kiely, Amy Butler and Liberty of London to give their products a new lease of life, their sales would go through the roof.

Just a thought, sigh...

Pyrex would definetely be alot prettier that's for sure!

p.s. Have you seen the Pyrex give-away on Atomic Betties? It's a Spring Blossom Cinderella casserole...just in case you're interested.

p.p.s would love to see Big Banana pics if you end up going

Before I even scrolled down, I thought of Orla Keilly! Great bloggers think alike! Let's start a petition...

Swoon... Can you imagine? It would be so beautiful - I do wonder why Pyrex doesn't bring back those crisp and simple designs. They would fly off the shelf!

I think you should email the company or the CEO and ask/pass on your idea! :)

Does the company even know that there is a huge crazy market of people who buy vintage pyrex? Or are they working under a rug in a room with no windows? :)

You're so right. Wouldn't that be fabulous if they did!

It would definitely be pretty but my biggest problem with new pyrex is it isn't near the quality of the old stuff. Pyrex is now made by a different company and they do not use the same materials in their products. So, no matter how pretty I wouldn't buy it.

Can you imagine if new Pyrex made retro throwback patterns on new pieces for a limited time?!
